JOE STRUMMER: THE FUTURE IS UNWRITTEN

Director Julien Temple will be a guest of the festival and will be introducing the screening of Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten

“Phenomenal, captures the spirit of rock and roll.” - Uncut

Julien Temple does to Joe Strummer what he did to the Sex Pistols in The Filth and the Fury, creating a visceral and rapid-fire biopic of the punk rocker and leader of The Clash who helped pioneer the English punk scene. Temple blends home movies of Strummer as a child, photographs, music videos and archival interviews to round out the life, death and influence of Strummer who died of an undiagnosed congenital heart defect at age 50. Features interviews with Bono, Jim Jarmusch, Steve Buscemi, John Cusack, Johnny Depp, Matt Dillion, Anthony Kiedis, along with Clash members Mick Jones, Terry Chimes and Topper Headon.
