ECHOES OF HOME

Who would imagine that Swiss avant-garde yodelling could bring so much joy? Well, it does. Enter the wondrous sonic world of three exceptional Swiss vocal artists whose universe of sound extends far beyond what we would describe as singing. The Alpine vistas are a stage and inspiration for our three good-natured singers as they explore local and international traditions and vocal possibilities that the common man wouldn't dream about. Drawing from influences as diverse as Mongolian throat-singing and the sounds of the modern city - seemingly channelling The Sound of Music and Frank Zappa simultaneously - their music surprises and uplifts. “Is there a connection between the landscape and the way that one sings in it? Indeed, in all the mountain ranges of the world, the answer could only be yes.” - Berlinale Forum
