ROCK N ROLL NERD

Australia, 2008 (MIFF 2008, MIFF Premiere Film Fund)

Director: Rhian Skirving

ROCK N ROLL NERD

“Tim and I would get together most days for a cup of tea. He'd moan about the music he wished he was playing and I'd moan about the films I wished I was making. One day I picked up my camera and started recording.” - filmmaker Rhian Skirving

This feature documentary charts the rise of one of Melbourne's unique young talents, Tim Minchin - comedian, actor, composer, songwriter, pianist, musical director and rock 'n' roll megastar. Featuring live performances from the charismatic Minchin, Rock n Roll Nerd is a highly charged personal journey from zero to hero.

“… let's start by saying that Tim Minchin, the weird little guy with the grand piano and no shoes, is a f**king genius.” - thescene.com.au

Rhian Skirving and Lizzette Atkins are guests of the festival.
