SELL OUT!

Malaysia, 2008 (MIFF 2009, Neighbourhood Watch)

Director: Yeo Joon Han

SELL OUT!

“Corporate greed meets an ultra-shameless reality show, and Sondheimian musical numbers... To call the whole shebang a Faustian tale is an understatement.” - Bangkok Post

Yeo Joon Han's exuberant debut feature is a satirical musical dig at corporate culture, complete with several silly infinitely pop musical bursts, an exorcism, identical (and imaginary) twins among many other offbeat, magical moments.

Hilariously balancing the tightrope between fame, fortune and selling out, Sell Out! - Malaysia's first ever ‘Manglish' musical - explores how hard it is to hold onto artistic integrity when everyone around you has already given in.

Winner of the Young Cinema Award for Alternative Vision at last year's Venice Film Festival.
