Concerto for Sub-Machine Gun

Yugoslavia, 1958 (MIFF 1960, Programme 1)

Director: Dusan Vukotic

An extraordinary raid on a bank led by a high-class gangster. The gang literally hangs out in a cupboard, where they are lined up on coat-hangers ready for action. The gun raid is conducted like an orchestral piece, but things come to grief when the shares and accounts are settled. A hilarious twelve minutes of social satire.
