Callas is a 90-minute documentary- performance film, which examines the artist as legend. A loving tribute in honour of her 55th birthday, the programme is the first full assessment of Callas' life and work. Hosted by her long time friend and professional associate, Franco Zeffirelli, the film features interviews with many of her colleagues and friends , taped conversations with Callas herself, rare performance sequences from the late 50's and 60‘s, and news- reel footage covering the latter part of her life.
