PLAINSONG

USA, 1982 (MIFF 1983)

Director: Ed Stabile

Ed Stabile's first feature film tells the story of a group of newly arrived settlers at the American frontier, about one hundred years ago.

It shows how their initial hopes and expectations are changed, how the harshness of their new lives determines their individual destinies.

Beginning with the death of one of the protagonists, the film takes us back through the history of the entire group, unfolding the events that lead back to the enigmatic scene of the film's opening.
