Insatiable

Australia, 1987 (MIFF 1987, Australian Sites: South)

Director: David Chesworth

Insatiable is a stylised, musical narrative working around ideas of 'performance'. It deals with four singers who arrive at an old theatre for an audition. It explores how they have prepared themselves for the audition. They each wait their turn to be called to perform. As they wait, the singers gradually reveal, through songs, recitatives and arias, more about their pasts, and speculate on their possible futures.
