More than three hours long, this film is a painstaking reconstruction of the days of the Munich crisis. One of Czechoslovakia's most distinguished film-makers. Otakar Vavra, has directed and scripted what is essentially a dramatised documentary. All the central characters from the period are played by Czech actors. Neville Chamberlain, in one of the film's central roles, is played by Jaroslav Radimechy. Aside from the leading historical figures, the film includes 256 smaller roles, in a detailed picture of the grim period just prior to the Secpnd World War.
