A Pair of One

Australia, 1987 (MIFF 1988, Documentary)

Director: Juliette Darling

A Pair of One is a complex and resonant study of a strange and fascinating pair of twins. Greta and Freda are identical twins who dress alike, try to walk in step and for much of the time speak the same words in unison. They are inextricably bound to each other and if separated they wail and scream There are many twins who dress alike and behave in a similar manner but the story of the Chaplin twins has been described as one of the most uncanny.
