Holding Margie's Hand is an intimate, comic look at the expectations and disappointments of friendship. What really goes on when two girls hang out? La La drops in unexpectedly on her friend, Margie. They agree to a night out together but La La sets up a double date with Doug and Dougy at a trendy restaurant. La La dumps Margie for one of the guys and Margie goes home alone. The next morning La La tries to ingratiate her way back into Margie's life but Margie has had enough. La La finds another victim.
