The filmmaker in his apartment in New York awaits news of his family in Nazareth during the Persian Gulf War. Television reports the missile attacks from Iraq are landing in Israel. The filmmaker's hybrid state, a Palestinian whose parents are being bombed by Iraq, reveals the complexity of Middle Eastern poli­tics and the way it has been simplified and suppressed, particularly during the Gulf War.
