Creature Comforts

UK, 1989 (MIFF 1994, Animation Focus - Totally Aardman)

Director: Nick Park

Even pumas need their 'personal space'! Meet the polar bears, chickens and other zoo occupants whose complaints and comments about their climate, diet and accommodation seem uncannily human.

The inspiration for a much-lauded and universally imitated series of TV commercials (originally made for the British electricity board), Creature Comforts takes the recognisable Aardman house-style of marrying authentic audio recordings with model animation, to new heights of mirth and poignancy. Justifiably one of the most popular animated shorts of our time.
- Winner 1991 Academy Award for Best Animated Short
