Getting Ready For Later

USA, 1990 (MIFF 1991, Fiction)

Director: Lexy Lovell

This is a striking film about the damaging fears parents transmit to their children. The story is told by a young boy, Sonny, in impressionistic vignettes - three that take place in 1952 and the fourth in 1966 where we see him as a young man.

Louis Malle acted as a production advisor on this European-flavoured American film which was shot by John (Metropolitan) Thomas
