SEX WITH STRANGERS

USA, 2000 (MIFF 2001, Documentaries)

Director: Joe Gantz, Harry Gantz

MIFF opened the door on Swingers with 1998's The Lifestyle. This year all secrets about open relationships and group sex parties are laid bare in Sex with Strangers. This full frontal documentary explores the lives of three couples of various ages, whose recreational hours are spent soliciting multiple sex partners in a world where 'monogamy' is the only dirty word.

Shannon and Gerard, married with children, are questioning their involvement in the scene when an online flirtation with the mysterious Misty threatens the boundaries they've established. James and Theresa take their show on the road; they criss-cross the US in a motor home prowling for titilating trysts, while Theresa contemplates B cup to D cup cosmetic surgery. Calvin loves Sarah and Julie. Despite their assurances that they are comfortable with the three-way arrangement, there is trouble in paradise.
