5150 ELM'S WAY

Canada, 2009 (MIFF 2010, Night Shift)

Director: Eric Tessier

A film student stumbles into the lair of a righteous serial killer in this chilling adaptation of a best-selling novel by Patrick Senécal.

When film student Ian (played by Marc-André Grondin, star of C.R.A.Z.Y., MIFF 06) takes a tumble on his bike and goes knocking on a door of a random house asking for help, he gets a lot more than he bargained for. Taken prisoner by Jacques Beaulieu, a fanatical Christian and vigilante bent on ridding the world of evil, Ian finds himself locked in a deadly game that may cost him his mind or his life.

“I liked the idea of ‘mundane hell'. The most horrific things can happen in totally banal settings.” - filmmaker Éric Tessier
