IN SESSION: BEN LEWIN

Melbourne writer-director Ben Lewin has lived across three continents and, with three decades of filmmaking under his belt, took on Hollywood to create The Sessions with John Hawkes, Helen Hunt and William H Macy, a double award winner at the Sundance Film Festival this year.

Mac Gudgeon (screenwriter Last Ride, Ground Zero) of the Australian Writers' Guild speaks with Ben about his long struggle to make the film independently, its successes and his homecoming to Australia.
