Min has lost his wife in a plane crash - a tragedy he foresaw in a dream shortly before it occurred. Tormented by grief, he trudges through his life with no apparent will to live.
Then he meets Soo-young, an anchorwoman who lost her father in the same terrible accident. Just when the memory of the tragic crash seems at last to be dissipating, Min suddenly starts receiving mysterious and disturbing phone calls that lead him to a remote cottage hidden in the dark underwood of an ancient forest - a cottage Soo-young appears to know very well. In his state of extreme confusion, Min is forced to try and piece together both past and present from the cryptic fragments colliding in his mind.
Defying genre boundaries, [Spider Forest] moves from supernatural thriller to richly symbolic psychological drama, from fantasy to fragile humanity, trapping the audience in a deftly constructed web of consummate storytelling.
