""Given the current state of agriculture in the world, it could feed12 billion people... or to put it another way: any child who dies of starvation today is in fact murdered."" - Jean Ziegler, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food

Over 300,000 hectares in Latin America are dedicated to growing crops that serve as food for livestock overseas, while one quarter of the local population starves. With food production capacity at unprecedented heights, how can such inequalities in its distribution exist?

Erwin Wagenhofer's wide-ranging documentary is an investigation of the international forces that shape the global production and supply of food, using interviews with industry leaders, food specialists, farmers and fishermen to cover the gamut of the food production industry. From discussions of the infiltration of genetically modified foods into non-GM food sources, to confronting images of the mechanisation of meat production, We Feed the World provides a whole new perspective on the food we eat.
