The first Israeli film selected to open the Jerusalem Film Festival, nominated for 12 gongs at last year's Israeli Academy Awards. Based on the best-selling novel by David Grossman, Someone to Run With careens through the streets of Jerusalem on the end of a labrador's leash. Two first-time actors play Assaf and Tamar - Assaf, a shy 17 year-old given the impossible task of tracking down the owner of a lost dog, and Tamar, a gifted musician embarking (with her own mutt) on a quest into the city's seamy underworld. Travelling along parallel timelines, their stories collide in a suspenseful climax that shows their accelerated journey into adulthood, self-discovery and first love. “Someone to Run With made me cry and I don't argue with my tears.” - Time Out
