“Very possibly the Next Big Thing for world music mavens and hipster armchair travelers alike.” - Variety Imagine a glockenspiel made out of roofing beams and you're halfway to conjuring the txalparta, an ancient musical instrument that takes two Basque men around the world in search of a unique kind of musical jam. Harkaitz and Igor travel to far-flung locations, mixing among the Adivisi people of India, the Sami people of Laponia, visiting the Mongol steppe, the Arctic Circle and the Saharan Desert. At each stop, they make a new txalparta - chiselling these instruments out of ice or carving them out of stone - and then perform with locals in grand trans-continental jam sessions. An exhilarating, globe-hopping statement on the universal language of music.
