“A dark exploration of human nature at its basest and most animal-like.” - Hollywood Reporter

A film that is as harsh as the living conditions of farmers on the Argentinean pampas, La Rabia mixes sex, brutality and death in a tale of growing discord between two neighbouring families, as seen through the eyes of their disturbed children. Relationships crumble, adulterous affairs emerge and revenge seems inevitable in this bucolic, pressure cooker environment.
The latest feature from Argentinean director Albertina Carri (The Blonds, Gemini) mixes the banal brutality of rural life - including animal slaughter and explicitly carnal scenes - with shades of magic realism to create a unique and unnerving visual alchemy.
