A perilous black comedy.

Serbia, 1993. A troupe of Belgrade actors takes a French farce on tour for a quick buck. The quaint Serbian towns the actors expect to find have become the scene of a civil war. Instead of bringing culture to the needy, they wander from one indistinguishable side to another, alternately being captured, feted, attacked and abandoned.

This tragicomic road movie is written and directed by stage and screen veteran Goran Markovic (Tito and Me, Serbia, Year Zero). Scenes of delight are laced with darkness and no horror is without an absurd edge. Markovic takes some of the best actors currently working in Serbia, binds them into a squabbling ensemble and drags them from the home front to the war zone.

As Yugoslavia crumbles around it, The Tour exposes the complexities of this divisive time.
