“Magnificently visual, with deadpan acting reminiscent of the road movies of Jim Jarmusch and Bouli Lanners and a quirky economy of style.” - Variety

Rune Denstad Langlo makes his directorial debut with a wacky ski movie blessed with deft Scandinavian humour and commanding performances. One of the funniest movies at this year's Berlin film festival, North follows Jomar as he sets out to reach the Norweigian Arctic on a snowmobile.

Langlo draws out brilliantly expressive performances from a mostly non-professional cast. Astounding visuals - filmed under extremely adverse conditions in the dead of winter - create a spectacular impression of Norway's polar climes.

“As stolid Jomar, [Anders Baasmo] Christiansen brings a special heft to the notion of a deadpan performance.” - Screen International
