Corpse is a new experimental drama by James Clayden. It has taken him several years to complete. It represents a major addition to that small body of work of the Australian film avant-garde, and is determinedly separate from conventional narrative cinema.

Corpse is composed of images of intense photographic richness, particularly those aspects of the Australian landscape it captures in semi-darkness. Amidst these images are fleeting and sometimes hooded figures. A voice on the soundtrack provides additional information via a poetic commentary.

An excerpt from this commentary is to be found along with other information about independently produced Australian films at the front of this program.
