Going Up

Going Up is "the birth of the skyscraper', the construction of a New York city skyscraper as a work of art. This is a breathtaking time-lapse film which captures the hard hat's intimate relationship with the edifice and fellow iron-workers, forty stones above New York harbour.

Although thirty minutes might seem a bit long for a time-lapse film for students, it changes pace and direction, has heart wrenching moments as men hang off buildings and it provides a very rare insight into an industry which is always "going up" in front of our eyes.
