In the nineteenth century Scottish Highland clearances peasant farmers were evicted from their land and then accused of being feckless and irresponsible for being unable to feed their families. The same process is happening in India today. This controversial and very personal documentary skillfully intercuts these two scenarios using re-enactments interviews with Rajastani women, archive US news footage and today's propaganda films warning of global over population. It challenges the international population establishments view that overpopulation is responsible for poverty and environmental destruction.
