Prolific filmmaker Michael Winterbottom returns with a chilling portrait of a small town psychopath.

In 1950s small-town USA, Deputy Sheriff Lou Ford (Casey Affleck) is a well-bred and respectable member of society, but his cheshire cat grin hides his true nature as a cold-blooded homicidal sociopath. As one ultra-violent turn leads to another, Ford's veneer threatens to crack.

Adapted from Jim Thompson's 1952 novel, The Killer Inside Me is Michael Winterbottom's (Welcome to Sarajevo, 24 Hour Party People) first dramatic feature filmed in the US. With the brute force of a blunt axe this is one film that will get under your skin and stay there.

“Reaches a new extreme in the cinematic depiction of a psychopathic murderer.” - Screen International
