“I wrote a movie about asking people to be nice where we kill a whole bunch of people.” - Filmmaker Bobcat Goldthwait

Comedian-turned-filmmaker Bobcat Goldthwait (World's Greatest Dad, MIFF 10) propagates his blackly comic style of social commentary in a film that takes aim at the many symptoms of what one character calls "a mighty empire starting to collapse": vacuous celebrity culture, contemptible, deliberately misinformed political commentators, corrupted civility and more.

Frank (Joel Murray, brother of Bill and Mad Men co-star) is fed up with the inane downward spiral of American culture. Divorced, unemployed and terminally ill, he buys a gun and takes out his frustration on a laundry list of the cruellest, stupidest, most intolerant people he can imagine, starting with reality TV stars. A high-school student named Roxy (Tara Lynne Barr) comes along for the ride as the platonic Bonnie to Frank's Clyde.

“Scathingly hysterical.” - Village Voice

Bobcat Goldthwait is a guest of the festival.
