TAIKA WAITITI'S BOY WINS AUDIENCE AWARD FOR FEATURE FILM

BILL CUNNINGHAM: NEW YORK WINS AUDIENCE AWARD FOR DOCUMENTARIES

MIFF audiences voted Taika Waititi’s Boy as their favourite feature film, while Bill Cunningham: New York was voted as favourite documentary. Boy was recently released theatrically in New Zealand and had the highest box office for a New Zealand film.

While International Panorama had the most sell out sessions, new spotlight, Our Space (a selection of films that deal with our built environment), proved to also be a favourite with every film having at least one sell out session proving that audiences still want to see cutting edge, audacious international cinema. Other sessions that sold out include Teenage Paparazzo, Four Lions, Enter The Void, I Love You Phillip Morris, Leap Year, The Wedding Party and Mother of Rock.
