Hello again, MIFFsters!

It's less than a month since we said farewell to MIFF 2012, but but for those feeling rejuvinated by the Spring sunshine and up to some film and culture, this edition of Widescreen is jam-packed with great giveaways - hooray!

We also remind producers that the MIFF Premiere Fund is now accepting submissions. The Premiere fund supports new Australian theatrical films and feature-length documentaries that will premiere at MIFF. Applications close on 21 September. FOCUS FORWARD SUBMISSIONS EXTENDED

2012 LAVAZZA ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL

Tickets are now on sale for the 2012 Lavazza Italian Film Festival - the biggest festival of Italian films outside Italy! Presented by Palace Cinemas, the festival will run from September 19 to October 9 at Palace Cinema Como, Palace Balwyn, Palace Brighton Bay, Palace Westgarth and Kino Cinemas.

With over 30 films, the lovingly selected programme will showcase the best Italian fare from recent international film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Rome and Venice. SHADOW DANCER

From Academy Award winning director James Marsh and starring Clive Owen, Andrea Riseborough and Gillian Anderson, Shadow Dancer  follows single mother Collette McVeigh, a Republican living in Belfast with her mother and hardliner IRA brothers. When she is arrested for her part in an aborted IRA bomb plot in London, an M15 officer, Mac, offers her a choice: lose everything and go to prison for 25 years or return to Belfast to spy on her own family.
