Talking Pictures 2014

Catch up with one of the most interesting Talking Pictures panels at MIFF 2014: To Make or Break - Do Critics Matter? with a video excerpt of the panel discussion from The Wheeler Centre on Saturday 9 August 2014. Featuring a panel of experts - moderator and journalist Tom Ryan, the Hollywood Reporter's David Rooney, Margaret Pomeranz (ABC's At the Movies), Karl Quinn (National Film Editor,The Age), Joel Pearlman (Managing Director, Roadshow Films) and revered Australian director Fred Schepisi (The Eye of the Storm, MIFF 2011) this event is a companion to the Critics Campus initiative launched at MIFF 2014.

Critics Campus

MIFF's inaugural Critics Campus was held during the 2014 festival. An intensive seven-day lab for emerging Australian film critics to develop their skills in a live festival setting, the event was an inspiring and invigorating experience for participants and mentors alike. MIFF 2014 People's Choice Award Winners

After a very close ballot, the results are in: the winners of the MIFF People's Choice Awards, presented by Foxtel Movies, are: Boyhood (Best Feature) and Jalanan (Best Documentary). Congratulations to both films, and all the films in the top 20.
