In television, Rachel’s portrayal of Brenda in the acclaimed HBO series Six Feet Under earned her a Golden Globe, a further two Golden Globe nominations, two SAG Awards and multiple Emmy nominations. Her appearance on the ABC’s Brothers & Sisters also garnered Golden Globe, Emmy and SAG nominations. Other television credits include the NBC’s Camp, the Julian Assange biopic Underground, Paper Giants: Magazine Wars, SBS’s Dead Lucky and Dustin Lance Black’s gay-civil-rights series When We Rise. Rachel has just completed production on the Amazon/ABC series The Wilds.

In the last few years, Rachel has moved into content creation. In 2019, she directed and produced the highest-grossing Australian feature film of the year, Ride Like a Girl, and also co-created and starred in the political drama Total Control, which won Best Television Drama Series and Best Supporting Actress at the AACTAs. She sits on the board of ACMI and is the patron of Bus Stop Films.

As a director, actor and film-lover, I’ve been coming to MIFF all my life. MIFF is the premier annual gathering for Melbourne’s creative communities. Please join me in supporting MIFF in its ambitious program that will provide Australians with continued access to the world’s best new content and content makers. The festival will be a virtual community that will remind us all of what we love so much about cinema. It will guarantee that they will return to our cinemas stronger than ever.
