Italians at Home

A project that begins with the intention of making a study of the domestic environments of Italians living in Australia. The parameters are broadened however, to accommodate wider issues, and in the process the path of discovery continually traverses the boundary between documentary and fiction. Personal observation mixes with fabulation, pasta making and theoretical dilemmas. The bottom line: "nostalgia has the fragrance of death" (S.C.)
