Mane and Lucie despise each other; identical twins who, at least on the surface, appear to express touching familial love in order to disguise loathing. Lucie is a superficial model, enamoured of flashy cars, glamourous playboys and decadent sex while Marie is a picture of propriety, integrity and authenticity. No makeup no fancy clothes and just one man in her simple life. Lucie, predictably fascinated by showbiz, is given the opportunity to become a singer, a dream come true... if only she could sing. Marie, on the other hand, has a modicum of talent and agrees to impersonate her sister. Ater an auspicious debut, Mane returns to her sisters home to find that Lucie has committed suicide! For Marie, this tragedy is a blessing in disguise and a chance to live out Lucie's forbidden life.

Her 15 minutes of fame is an explosive one, filled with all the excesses overnight rock'n'roll fame can provide. Adapted from the controversial story by Virginia Despentes, author of the banned Baise-Moi. Also stars French rock singer Patrick Bruel and rising star Stomy Bugsy. Blackly funny, super sexy and outrageously shot, Gilles Paquet-Brenners Pretty Things explores the age old adage and warning: Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it."
