“Mike Nichols's very funny, manically scatterbrained movie, The Fortune, is an epic version of those old two-reel comedies.” - New York Times

From master filmmaker Mike Nichols (The Graduate, Postcards From the Edge) and screenwriter Carole Eastman (The Shooting, Five Easy Pieces) - writing under the pen-name Adrien Joyce - comes 1975's The Fortune. Nicky and Oscar are two imbecilic con artists in 1920s America who set their sights on Freddie, a lonely millionaire and heiress to a sanitary napkin fortune.

Featuring the unbeatable duo of Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson as the conmen and a young Stockard Channing as the heiress, The Fortune is considered a forgotten classic by many - including the Coen brothers, who cite this engaging, funny farce as one of their all-time favourite films.
