Thanks to ringleader Ari Up’s obsessive documentation, director William E Badgley’s first feature, Here to be Heard, is a treasure trove of archival footage from a rare perspective. Combined with new footage and probing interviews with members Viv Albertine, Tessa Pollitt and Paloma McLardy (aka Palmolive) as well as compatriots Don Letts, Gina Birch and Thurston Moore, it makes for an unruly portrait of a band almost too punk for punk.
