"Offers wry, spry refreshment … A bite-size confection whose surface sweetness hides hints of more complex flavors." – Hollywood Reporter

In Chile, to share tea is to share one's life. Once a month, every month, for the last 50 years, Alicia, Gema, Angelica, Ximena and Maria have met up for tea and cakes, an unbreakable ritual of friendship almost as old as they are. As they sit together, they talk of their lives and loves, of families and community, and share the profound intimacies and secrets that only come when people have built a life with one another.

A quiet gem of deep and abiding humanity, Tea Time is the cosy and inviting sophomore feature from documentarian Maite Alberdi. Shot over four years and offering an up-close and unadorned glimpse of these five women and the remarkable lives that they've led, it delivers a heartwarming document of the delights and power of friendship that feels just like hanging out with old friends.
