Men Suddenly in Black (Daai Cheung Foo) Hong Kong

Adultery is a serious business. Paul, Cheung, Chao and Tin have 14 hours to get drunk, eat and cheat on their overbearing and suspicious wives. They have planned their infidelity like a military operation: no credit card transactions to trace sumptuous meals bought for hookers, no mobile phone calls to mistresses and nine spare condoms each!

This riotous and extremely clever Hong Kong comedy is directed by Ho Cheung Ping, the maniac mind behind MIFF 2002 hit You Shoot, I Shoot. Eric Tsang Chi-Wai (who also takes a lead role in the Infernal Affairs trilogy) produces and stars as Tin, the sleazy genius behind the extramarital expedition. The quartet of philanderers have dedicated their sexcapades to 'Ninth Uncle', a pal who has been kept under strict house arrest by his wife since covering up for the boys one debauched night.

The film, which opened the Hong Kong Film Festival, pays homage to numerous Asian crime classics (John Woo films are mercilessly parodied with great affection) as the farce builds to a salacious climax. With bad luck dogging their mission and their wives closing in, our four fools resort to desperate measures.
