My Brother Vinnie

McGregor's observational documentary explores a close relationship between two brothers, Aaron and Vinnie Pedersen. Aaron has established a successful career as a prominent TV actor. Following the death of their Nana, Daphne Hele, he has been responsible for the care of Vinnie, a thirty-four year old with a mild intellectual disability and cerebral palsy. This intimate documentary crosses all cultural boundaries, capturing a loving relationship full of humour, wit and positive energy. It simultaneously examines the wider social issues, indigenous family crisis and centrality of familial connections and traditions, whilst keeping up with the frantic pace of urban living. Poignant, humorous and entertaining.
