“An unassumingly political work that unfolds with the simplicity of a parable and the gravity of a Bible story.” - New York Times Dry Season deals with the aftermath of Chad's 40-year civil war. When the government decrees an amnesty on all civil war crimes, 16 year-old orphan Atim, with the blessing of his grandfather, decides that justice lies in his own hands. He sets out to kill Nassara, the man who made him an orphan, first gaining his trust by working as his apprentice. While waiting for his moment to strike, they form an unlikely friendship, forever changing the way Atim views the world. Told with almost no dialogue, Dry Season relies instead on a moody language of glances and glares. A multiple award-winner at last year's Venice Film Festival.
