"A complex dark comedy of near-Shakespearean proportions." - Variety

During the Kosovo war, a train carrying radar equipment and a group of American soldiers gets stalled at a train station in a backward Romanian village when an overzealous stationmaster refuses to let them go on without the proper paperwork. The standoff between the army captain (Armand Assante) and the stationmaster quickly descends into farce, as the soldiers and the locals all try to work the situation to their advantage.

The feature debut for director Cristian Nemescu, who died tragically during postproduction, California Dreamin' is presented ‘endless', in the unfinished state Nemescu had left it at the time of his death.

Multiple award winner, including the Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard Award.
