“I dare anyone to come up with a feminist film of this era so shattering as well as ambivalent about the nature of liberation.” - film critic Tom Allen

The film that George Romero has always wanted to remake, and one of his most personal - A Woman Under the Influence with witches, Juliet of the Spirits from Pennsylvania's suburbia, and a remarkably unusual and passionate feminist piece.

Jack's Wife is the story of a 39-year-old housewife (Jan White) haunted by loneliness, sexual repression, Catholic guilt and dark, masochistic, violent visions. Also titled Hungry Wives and Season of the Witch, it predates the explorations of the relationship between identity and the supernatural that Romero would investigate further in Monkey Shines and Bruiser.
