Figure Head

Recently, the Halas and Batchelor studios completed a short puppet film &ndash: called "The Figurehead" &ndash: which was chosen to represent Britain at the Cannes Film Festival. Highly commended by the judging committee, there, its next appear¬ance will be at the forthcoming Berlin Film Festival Filmed in Technicolor, and based on a verse by Cornish poet, Crosbie Gar" stin. The story it tells is of a pretty young-mermaid and her love for a ship's figurehead.
