Jean Renoir produced this delightful little cameo, adapting it from one of Guy de Maupassant's short stories. It is the story ol a French family picnicing in the country. A typical Parisian family seek the quiet and solitude ol the charming French country¬side in a late 19th Century setting, and their adventures and misadventures form the basis of the story. Jean Renoir himself appears in the film in a supporting role.

The picture ran into censor trouble in America and in some of the States it was banned entirely.
