In its programme of work with the rural families of Puerto Rico, the Division of Community Education has recently produced two films and a book on the theme, "The Rights of Women". The country man, though respectful of his women folk and always ready to defend and protect them, has not yet fully accepted the idea that they share an equal voice with him in all matters affecting the family and the community. Since this subject challenges the theory of the male prerogative, the Division decided lo dramatize it in a film with "a light touch" rather than one with a heavy moralizing message.
