At the time of the Renaissance the Humanist movement brought about an intellectual, moral and psychological rebirth in the whole of Europe. The film, which is of a philosophical character, portrays this rebirth by cinematographic means. Crushed by original sin and subjected entirely to an authoritarian God, man gains consciousness of the strength within him and affirms his power.
