An account of the life and career of one of the legendary figures of the English music hall, who was also a star of vaudeville in the United States and Australia during the early part of this century. The film includes a unique record of a performance given in 1969 when Hetty King was in her 87th year, with a sequence shot in her dressing room beforehand, showing stages in the elaborate 4-hour preparation for her act.
