Maria Vaner plays three different types of girl, all called Anna, whose point in common is their failure and disillusionment in love. In the first study, called The Earth, an innocent young girl's first ecstatic love affair leads to pregnancy, abortion, and bitterness, and which later turns into companionship based on mutual pity. In Ihe second, called The Air, the girl evades responsibility in a pscudo-beatnik atmosphere, edges towards nymphomania, but finds that her fear of life proves stronger than her need for love. In the third sketch, The Cloud, the girl exists only in the mind of an office worker who lacks the courage to be agressively male.

This is the second film of Argentine writer-director David Jose Kohn. His work shows that he can associate images to convey ideas without resort to symbolism; his observations are fresh without being over-dramatised. Of the stories, the second is the more impressive being the most understanding of the particular problems facing the younger generation in the Argentine.

Maria Vaner gives a beautifully varied performance in the title role, and Ricardo Arnovich's camera has handsomely caught the contemporary Buenos Aires locale.
