Rivers of Time (1957) [Short]

UK (MIFF 1963 , History)
Director: William Novik

The film impressively traces the rise and fall of the dynasties which inhabited the valley of the Tigris and Euphrates, from the Sumerian epoch, through the later expansion of Arabic culture in the area, to the present day. Contemporary sculpture, excavated buildings, and medieval Arabic paintings are used to illustrate how greatly the Middle East contributed to the foundations of European culture.
